This is a great sculpt of another iconic beastie. Ice and fire together in a giant worm Nolzur's minis are made of a plastic that is harder than Reaper Bones material, but softer than every other line of minis I've had experienced with. They come pre-primed, but with mould lines intact. Which kind of renders the priming moot.
Very simple, as these came pre-assembled. It did come on a base which I covered with some homemade snow compound. Mould lines weren't bad and easy to remove. Some bits were a little bent, but nothing hot water couldn't fix.
Primed with Badger Stynlrez primer, brushed on. Miniature painted purley in oils. Mostly Winsor & Newton Winton line. The blending of each yellow/red transition was very quick and easy. Took a few hours to paint in total. The eyes I think really tie the face together. Sealed with some matt varnish from Reaper Miniatures.
Custom made with a few combinations of homemade snow. Tried PVA glue with baking soda, and different amounts of Liquitex gloss medium with baking soda. Overall, it turned out not too shabby. Put some blue wash in the snow cracks to give it an extra icy look.
